Campaign themes

2014

Jackson's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[2]

  • Jobs: Coach Bobby Jackson has worked in education for more than 40 years, earning his way up the ladder from teaching, to coaching, and now to school administration. He knows the value of working hard every day. He will work in Montgomery to make that privilege a reality for every resident of District 5.
  • Open, Honest Government: State government in Montgomery has become controlled by political bosses who prefer passing legislation behind closed doors rather than listening to the people who elected them. Bobby Jackson will call for state government to be honest, open, and small.
  • Education: Over the past four years, the state legislature has succeeded in passing closed-door legislation that will change the way we educate our children. Bobby Jackson is a proud former coach and educator who is running to repeal the damage that has been done. It is important for our education system to reflect our North Alabama values, rather than those of the few in Montgomery who want to dismantle our public schools.
